First Retail Store of Mr. Parmanand Hirdaramani
Early
1900s

Mr. Paramanand Hirdaramani commenced business with a small retail store in Fort, Downtown Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Clothing and accessory retail stores1940s1946

Hirdaramani Ltd. is incorporated with clothing and accessory retail stores in Colombo and Kandy.

Clothing and accessory retail stores1950s & 1960s

The Group's first large-scale factory, Hirdaramani Industries Limited, commences shirt manufacturing for own brands 'Popular' and 'Diplomat'.

Cut-sew knit garment1970s1974

Ceylon Knit Trend Ltd. is incorporated to manufacture cut-sew knit garments for export, a pioneering step in the Sri Lankan Apparel industry.

Destroyed two of the Group's factories1980s1983

Two of the Group's factories are destroyed in the July 1983 riots and recommence operation within 6 months.

Hirdaramani Bangladesh1984

Regency Chittagong formed to start Hirdaramani Apparel Bangladesh | Creation of Comtextile HK Limited Trading Operation.

Airport Garden Hotel Seeduwa1986

The first investment in Hotels: Airport Garden Hotel Seeduwa.

Ceylon Knit Trend Ltd.1990s1992

Ceylon Knit Trend Ltd., Eheliyagoda and Hirdaramani Industries Ltd., Kuruwita are built to expand capacity and footprint in Sri Lanka.

Formation of Fashion Garments in Ho Chi Minh to start Hirdaramani Apparel Vietnam.

The Group's first backward integration investment into knit fabric manufacturing Ocean Lanka in collaboration with Fountain Set, Hong Kong.
